Taming Mercury with Devotion
A Lending Branches publication exploring life’s resets, tuning into realignments, and managing the master mixologist.
The energy’s already been strange this week, and it’s only Wednesday.
Texts landing wrong.
Tech acting stubborn.
Conversations that used to flow now need subtitles.
Yes, I know we are in Mercury retrograde. I keep tabs on that master mixologist because communication, even on the best of days, tends to get lost in translation when I speak.
And
Yesterday’s 11:11 portal called for an annual check-in with the part of ourselves that’s been quietly waiting for attention. A subtle reset. A nudge toward alignment. A reminder to stop running on old rhythms and see what is actually true now.
An invitation that feels a little louder this week, with Mercury stirring the edges, amplifying misfires, delays, and highlighting those moments when clarity slips just out of reach.
But beneath the static, there is movement. An undercurrent asking us to pause, listen, and recalibrate what really fuels us.
As many of you know, I am a woman in a season of life where I am still figuring out what I want to do with the rest of… now.
After spending my entire adult life parenting and providing, turning that focus toward myself still feels strange, even two years in.
This stage is about honoring, nurturing, receiving, and giving to self for self. And honestly, I am still figuring out how to do that fully, although I do have a full sock drawer and enough underwear to get me through a month before I need to do laundry.
Progress.
That is why I am inspired by Sharie Hohn, a colleague, cohort, and friend who models real devotion to self.
She reminds me of wholeness embodied.
As a frequency practitioner, energy alchemist, and teacher whose work bridges the body, spirit, and everyday life, she lives integration.
Her signature Eye Matrix system reveals how our emotions and experiences live in the body, shaping how we respond to the world. When she walks you through it, it is less energy talk and more an honest conversation with yourself, one that lands right where healing starts.
This weekend she is facilitating She Who Returns to Her Light, a 4-Hour Online Eye Matrix Retreat for women ready to reconnect with their natural rhythm.
The title alone feels like medicine.
It is about coming home to what has been there all along, beneath the noise, the caretaking, the years of giving everything away.
One of her Instagram posts yesterday is still with me.
“Feed the woman who has been feeding everyone else.”
It hit like both an invitation and an aha.
Because let’s be honest, so many of us are standing in that same space, wondering what we want after a lifetime of considering everyone else.
She Who Returns to Her Light feels like a sign. A calling. A yes.
So meet Sharie Hohn.
And if you are anywhere close to where I am in life, and you want to carve out four hours for yourself this Saturday, there is a retreat calling your name, saying come, replenish your soul, and return to your own light.

This is how we tame Mercury, with devotion, with awareness, with the willingness to return to ourselves again and again.
