A Slow Sunday publication on what it means to sit with gratitude
Meet me here, in a deep pool of gratitude. The kind that settles into the bones. The kind that doesn’t need fanfare. Just quiet truth.
When I started this Substack, I didn’t intend to bring writing and contemplation back into my life in such a profound way. I truly set it up to see how the platform worked. That was it. An experiment. A curiosity. And then something unexpected happened. You arrived. One by one. Some of you chose to step into the paid tier. And suddenly this wasn’t just a digital space. It became a living room. A table we keep returning to on Sundays.
You are the reason I show up here in real time. The reason I take a seat with my heart open and my hands on the keyboard. I love that you reach out through emails. Through direct messages. Through notes inside the app. I love hearing how you’re living your days. How your weeks unfold. What stirred. What softened. What cracked open. It matters to me. Deeply. This has never felt like a one-way conversation. It feels like relationship.
So this week is simply for appreciation. For you. For this exchange. For the way words travel and land and linger.
My life has come full circle in many ways this year. Fifty-five has been a year of quiet reckoning and gentle grace. And tonight, as I sit with gratitude still warm from Thanksgiving, I feel the good luck vibes through love. From my incredible kids. From my friends. And from each of you who meet me here.
Thank you for being part of this living thing with me.
Gratitude doesn’t always arrive loud. Sometimes it moves like warm tea through the chest. Sometimes it shows up as a quiet remembering that we are not doing this life alone. This week, if it feels right, let yourself pause long enough to notice who your own gratitude bends toward. A name. A moment. A simple exchange that keeps you tethered to what’s real.
And if you feel like sharing, leave a message. I’m here listening.
Kissed by faithful support,
Michelle

Hi Michelle - I marvel at the way your warmth of heart and intention to be touchable are so evident in your selection of words, your informal cadence, your gift of eloquenting (my new word for the day) about the experience of being human. I find myself looking forward to receiving your messages, your flow of life experiences given so freely and openly. The gratitude is sincerely mutual....
Happy to be here with you, Michelle!
